Greengiving’s carbon footprint
Running a sustainable business means looking beyond our range of products to the way we work ourselves. Because Greengiving also produces CO₂ emissions — there is no getting around that. That is why we focus on reusing, recycling and reducing. It starts with the boxes in our warehouse and continues through to the way we send out our orders.
Here are some of the things we do in practice:
We reuse cardboard shipping boxes wherever possible.- We choose boxes that fit and use old cardboard as packing material.
- We do not use single-use bottles or cups.
- We send used ink cartridges for recycling.
- We share files and artwork proofs through our customer portal. That means fewer emails and less duplicate file storage.
- By keeping our own stock and purchasing carefully, we reduce the number of transport movements.
Our contribution to climate and nature
We use Milieubarometer to map our emissions. It shows us where they come from and where we can make further reductions. Alongside the measures we take within our own business, we support climate and nature projects through the initiatives below.
Trees for All
From 2021 to 2024, we supported certified forest projects through Trees for All. Over these four years, we funded a total of 186 tonnes of CO₂ offsetting. These contributions are recorded in the certificates below.

Treebytree

Since 2025, we have also been contributing to nature restoration through Treebytree. Each month, we make a donation based on our orders. This supports the restoration of trees in Tanzania, together with local farmers.

Our emissions matter on the road too
For us, an order does not end when it has been packed. The journey to our customers matters too. That is why we use DHL GoGreen Plus for our parcel deliveries.
Shipping with GoGreen Plus
Through GoGreen Plus, we support measures that reduce emissions within the DHL network. These include electric vehicles and the use of HVO fuel as an alternative to fossil diesel.
These measures take place within the transport chain. DHL calculates what they achieve for our shipments and has the results independently verified.
Our shipments in 2025
For our GoGreen Plus shipments in 2025, DHL reports a calculated CO₂e reduction of 21.9%, equivalent to 1.63 tonnes. The emissions calculation and reduction have been independently verified by SGS.
The reduction is calculated against the reference service without emission reduction measures.
And our website?
What we do online has a carbon footprint too. Our webshop relies on servers, data traffic and visitors’ devices, all of which use energy. Through Websites Supporting Climate Projects, we contribute to certified climate projects. We explain more about this initiative on the page about our website.
