Sustainable bags made of recycled cotton
The bags in this collection are made of recycled cotton. The cotton consists of pre-consumer waste, which are snippets of clothes or other texile items. This fabric would otherwise have been thrown away. By collecting and processing it, a new product can be created. The snippets are being transformed into new yarn. For some of the bags, a special tracer is added, to make sure people can verify the claims about water savings and recycled materials. This technology is quite unique and it prevents greenwashing.
Recycled cotton - save and donate water
By recycling existing fabrics and snippets, there's no need to plant and harvest new cotton. That saves a lot of water. For every cotton bag in this collection is calculated how much water is saved compared to the producten of a bag made of 'new' cotton. This is stated on each product page. For some bags, this adds up to saving hundreds litres of water. To make the story even better, for a number of bags, 2% of the revenue is donated to water.org, an organisation that provides millions of people with access to clean drinking water.
