The story of MOYU

Just before the COVID-pandemic hit the world, the Dutch company MOYU introduced a new concept: erasable writing on stone paper. Meanwhile, lots of people are surprised with this fantastic sustainable notebook, and lots of new trees are planted. The scale-up company MOYU is committed to fight deforestation and paper waste by selling notebooks with erasable pages made of stone paper.

The mission of MOYU

A green world, without single-use paper, without paper waste and deforestation. That's what MOYU strives for. They focus on fighting single-use paper and paper waste. MOYU also wants to protect trees and plant trees, so ecosystems can be preserved. For every notebook sold, a tree is planted, in cooperation with Trees for Kenya. The major part of this amount is meant for the employees.

Magical place

MOYU means 'magical place' in Chinese. The idea behind this name is that our planet is a magical place that we should cherish and preserve. Second, the notebooks are a magical place that is perfect to write down all your thought, ideas and plans.

What is stone paper?

Stone paper is a sustainable alternative to regular paper. The production of stone paper saves on average 18 trees, 949 kg gas emissions, 2770 litres of water, 17.1 Gigajoules power and kilo's harmful chemicals. Stone paper is made of 80% limestone and 20% HDPE plastic. The limestone is collected in a Taiwanese stone quarry.

It's produced eco-friendly: no logging of trees or harmful chemicals

It's 100% recyclable (cradle-to-cradle certified)
